CLARA, series of photographs,  2020

The titles of the photographs and the short texts that accompany them are authentic archival statements. A dedication in Fritz's scientific publication, an excerpt from Immerwahr's doctoral oath, and eyewitness accounts of the Battle of Ypres add up to a vague image of the woman Clara might have been.  Flowers - a symbol of delicacy and beauty - best reflect the contemporary image of the scientist. I wonder if this is related to the fact that the most famous portrait of Clara comes from the time of her youth, in which she is captured as a sad, focused student.

To my dear wife Clara Haber, Ph.D., in gratitude for her silent co-operation, photography, 2020
